Whilst red is the Pillar Box colour de rigueur around the world, variations to this standard do exist. One of the more interesting examples is that of White Pillar Boxes, so painted during the wartime “Black out” in England to stop pedestrians bumping into them at night. Pillar Box White is a zippy blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Verdelho. Perfect for long summer days.
2009 Pillar Box White
87 Points
An exotically pungent bouquet for a blend of
Sauvignon Blanc/Verdelho/Chardonnay, well into the tropics, although the
excitement subsides somewhat on the crisp, clean palate. Screwcap.
2009 Pillar Box White
87 Points
Light and silky, with pretty pear and floral flavors, finishing with a refreshing lilt. Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho and Chardonnay. Drink now.
